A million bucks, a billion bucks, a trillion bucks…
Said aloud or read on the printed page, they pretty much all translate to the same thing: a lot of money. When you actually see the bills, however, it’s a completely different story.
Check out this clever visualization of the US debt. Whatever other adjectives you may want to use to describe it, it’s most certainly informative.
My favorite part is:
If you spent $1 million a day since Jesus was born, you would have not spent $1 trillion by now…but ~$700 billion- same amount the banks got during bailout.
Most people have never even seen $1 million, much less billions or trillions and yet spending it every single day for 2000 years still wouldn’t amount to $1 trillion.
that’s more terrifying than any horror movie I have ever seen.
Wow! I saw this via your tweet. Congress and the president are both playing politics over the issue. Neither is doing anything to let the American public know haw bad the problem is. Simply amazing.
I don’t think anyone from our government has been to your financial workshops to get the basic of all messages, “Spend less then you earn!”
I’m tired of the government taking from the taxpayer so that they can fund their pet projects and spend foolishly. If I spent my money the way the US Gov does, I’d be out on the street, living in a box.

I am differentiating between resourcefullness + keeping resources |wealth |self-care and idea of risk-taking|exploration, with Nassim Taleb’s proposed idea that one can startegise all, in various proportions.

In a reality that sometimes mixes up meanings, ever since money and time got associated, I know I have a different mind-signal when I hear the words: millionaire, rich, wealthy…or etc.
millionaire – actual accout money, or unemployed = discretionary time?

In multi-dimensional midsets, if world so far enjoyed using America and American concepts so as to keep the meaning of their traditions, too, the bill can have multiple symbolic meanings:
-> world blaming Americans for the – that exists because of + (profit) leading lifestyle. (basically, thinking sum zero about progress)
-> America becoming more aware of projecting stuff whenever it uses rest of the world to proclaime itself as ‘better’…
(sorry I keep thinking in 2s… I remember in a video you saing two options is not a option)
